Default Audi 80 b2 suspension

Hi,

Does anybody know what coilover options are for the b2 Audi 80? Ive lowered mine -60mm all round on a spax kit - which is on softest settings and ride is good - but it isnt low enough!!!! (thinking -80mm might be about right)

I cant seem to find much on the internet Any advice is appreciated!

-80mm kit? available anywhere?

I think the concensus is custom springs on custom platforms welded on to make them into coilovers.

Isn't it going to be undrivable? Mine is a 50/70 drop 70 at the front, on springs, and the front is so hard it's nigh on NO SUSPENSION! Lol

I'm planning on putting on the coilovers I have in the hope of making it softer!! Lol

I'm running coilovers on my 90. My set up is as follows:

4 x Bilstein B6
4 x 2.5" race springs
4 x conversion tubes

I am happy with the ride height and have received positive comments it looks about right, but I am running 17" rims. HTH
Cheers
Chris

Hi

I have a FK cup kit on mine, 75mm front 60mm rear, 16" rims.

You can get 'Bonrath' 15mm lowering caps from Venom motorsport, and apparently if you use the s2/rs2 'blue' suspension top mounts the front will be another 10mm lower, so 100mm is possible.

That's interesting, what's a lowering cap?! Never heard of that. Not something to do with the top mount is it?

Therefore if I wanted to go lower on the back could I just lob a pair of these caps on?

I have seen the top mounts - but my 80 seems to sit higher at the back, so would look daft if I lowered the front more!

Where can you get the 'conversion tubes' from?

Cheers

Mine were built and installed by Tim Cooper when he worked at QRS, but I do believe the tubes were bought from CompBrake as were the top mounts (which I have since got rid of).

No they are only avalible for the front.

They go on top of the spring, under the top mount.

As mentioned Compbrake sell them as do Demon tweeks, there is a thread on here somewhere with pics of how to build them.

Have a look at this link for the front.

http://www.classic-audi.co.uk/forum/...ead.php?t=7459

For the rear you could use these
