if you want lowered ride height and comfort, yet still want sporty handling get springs such as Eibach. I had the 35mm eibach springs on one of my previous cars and the balance between comfort and ride stiffness was perfect! Hence so many manufacturers use Eibach springs as factory option

Shocks do make a big difference as well, if your using standard shocks with lowering springs its not excellent... better to get appropriate shocks to suit. Thats my advice anyway, I like the 40mm drop on your quattro looks very nice, good luck.

I have KW1 coilovers on my coupe, not sure of the drop but it handles like a dream. It is harder than standard but its not that bad, my heavily pregnant missus can just about cope with it! Climbing in and out with the heavy doors and lowered is more of a challenge though!

BUT KW's are expensive. You get what you pay for though!

Here is my coupe..

Thanks for the replys guys, well ive kinda talked my self out of keeping the 40mm drop. Sat looking at it last night and it don`t look right. So what im going to try is as follows.
I took the standard ride height measurements before i lowered it. If i jack up the front and rear to the height i want and take that away from the original height that will leave me with the drop height i will need. Hopefully this is between 25mm-30mm which is the figure that i have in my head. If get these made up by the spring people and hopefully it will give that extra bit to suspenion travel to stop it botteming out. If not have to replace shocks. Ive already replaced top mounts when i fitted these springs. Doing this way i should get the ride height i want.
Sound like a plan guys........... anybody want a 40mm lowering kit....

It's not the height that makes it look odd it's the wheel choice IMO. Needs something a bit more dishy and retro and smaller, 16" retroness and you'll look bang on with the right offset.

Dampers and top mounts ftw.
