Default Rear Lights

Has anyone tried re-smoking rear lights? Or is it better to start with orange ones and smoke them instead?

I have some coloured lacquer, and my rear left light is a little lighter than the right one, so I'm contemplating what to do.

Any input welcomed!

Yes.....

And don’t if you are seeking OEM.

To knackered to offer images right now.

Sounds like the advice is not to smoke orange or pre-smoked...

Here you go...

Bottom left is a red one darkened down.

Also, you might need higher wattage rear bulbs which in turn can melt the plastic.

Ah I see. I think...
Bottom left is not better than my lightened one, so i agree it is not good to try and darken an orange one.
Both right hand side of the photo ones are original ones?
What is the top left one please? Looks ok to me...
I am using LED bulbs, except for the indicators.

They’re all originals (in various states of polish) except the bottom row, far left, which is the red one darkened down.

Oh. Interesting. What do you use to polish? That plastic headlight restorer?
