While all the stuff I've posted previously may seem complicated, remember this, the idea is that now that I've gone through it nobody else needs to. My plan is that by the end of this journey I can define a complete package for converting a 2.6 or 2.8 12v Audi V6 to run on Megasquirt (the input circuit I've just defined can actually be used with ANY management system, Motec, VEMS etc etc..). I will even be able to provide a 'map' for people to use.

I'd really like to try some different cams in this engine and tune to suit, although I think Shrick have now obsoleted them. There are some 260's still available NOS, but they're soooo mild as to be not worth bothering with. If anyone knows of any performance cams for the 12v then please let me know..

The other thing I'd like to play with is fitting a supercharger! Both PES and Motodyne have proven it with stock internals up to 50% increase in output. Suitable Mercedes superchargers can be bought for about £300!

The next stage is to define the configuration of the Megasquirt ECU itself.

I'm planning on using a V3.0 board and MS2 chip. I also plan to the Extra firmware.

Ouputs/Inputs that need adding:

Second O2 input (for second narrowband sensor)

Manifold changeover valve ouput (to switch the inlet over at 4000rpm)

Spark A

Spark B

Spark C

Tacho ouput (digital output to instruments and oil pressure control)

CAN H

CAN L

The CAN connections are only needed to communicate with TCU.

Because I'm using the JBPerf Wheel Divider board as previously mentioned the entire ignition input circuits on the V3.0 board can be ommitted from the build as the JB Perf board incorporates these circuits (simplifies the build massively)

Addicted has years more experience than you ever will and doesn't operate out of a back street garage in Latvia. Maybe once in a while you can shut the f*ck up and learn a little from those with proper knowledge

as you were...

Megasquirt is a great system if properly implemented and I'm sure it will be in this case good work sir

I have a mate who has a 300bhp mk2 Astra Sri 8v turbo that runs on megasquirt
And that runs great

Keep up the good work mate but just remember if you ever need any professional help MSH is always there

Where are you thinking of mounting the supercharger?

In the V or off the ac bracket or similar? I think I have seen one mounted down on the airbox side of the car, using merc charger or a home madew bracket, seemed like the cheapes DIY installation.

There is a guy on motorgeek making a custom cnc baseplate for a supercharger in the V.

Interested to see how it develops anyway.

Ok, I take my words back - but you should have mentioned that you made the choice aware of possible shortcomings, because before this post it felt that you have heard just about megasquirt Good luck.

Very interesting thread and really pleased to see someone thinking out the box on these underrated engines. Following closely as I may do something with my AAH cabby at some point....

Great work keep it up..
