Default 2,2 into 2,0 90

just been offered a audi 100 2,2 for £130 been sitting in a barn for years handy for sum parts maybe

just wondering if i put the 2,2 into my 90 cd would i have too change the wiring in it or is it really worth the hassle,,,had a 2,3 coupe years ago car was originally a 2.0gt am sure the wiring was changed any1 know

From my own experience, the JS code 2 litre engine is probably one of the sweetest n/a 5 cylinder engines Audi did, difference in performance on the road between it and the 2.2 is very little.

But if you really want to swap, it's straightforward as there's only minor variations in the two wiring looms and less involved than a 2.3 swap.

You’re not wrong, the JS was (probably the most) balanced 5 pot, with the bore and stroke volumetric capacity almost identical. With manual shims it makes it ideal for sub 2ltr turbocharging in motorsport.

The market for this is probably one or less but it is a peach.

Agree it’s a superb engine I still miss my JS engine in the coupe I had , the 80 (1781-4cyl) is nice and sprightly too though

still a cracking engine in it with only 113 thou on her been regular serviced throo out its whole life be a shame too take it out lovely sounding with single box
