Changing Audio Equipment
Sorry boys but as my Audi 80 ownership stretches to a whole 2 days I need to ask a dumb question! I want to change the aftermarket stereo from the Clarion thats in it and would normally disconnect the battery first. As I,m unfamiliar with the car I want to know if this action would effect things like the central locking. I have only one key which is used to lock all doors and fuel flap etc., and is not a remote fob. Just don,t want to risk finding dodgy wiring behind the stereo! We,ve all been there!

Should be ok.
On my 1993 audi 80 the central locking was actuated by the key too. Not much more sophisticated than that!

just disconnect it, it wont do any harm. The only thing you MIGHT have to do is reset your electric windows if they have got one touch operation. Press and hold the switch when fully up or down I think.
