Input shaft oil seal ? obsolete ? - Page 2

Strange that is ?

Vagparts told me it was NLA a number of years ago. will ring the local dealer tomorrow for a second opinion.

If all else fails there is a bearing / transmission specialist near me who would definatly help.

If those piccies are the correct seal I got those in the last 4 mths from the dealers.

Ive just searched part number 016409399B on google and this is showing the driveshaft oil seal !.

On my car the oil leak is from inside the bellhousing. Im guessing its the input shaft oil seal thats gone.

there are two driveshaft seals, one small one and then a larger seal, same as in amandas photos.

Input seal will be a pain to change...

Its a gearbox out job to do but im not too fussed if its got to be done ill have to do it .

Just like to say thanks for the help and advice. I sourced a seal from the local dealers who i never usually use.

What a pain to change though !
