Default Hello all!

Long time no speak from me!
Have taken a break from forums over the past few years and concentrated on starting up our VAG specialist business www.ceautomotive.co.Uk dealing with all VAG cars old and new. I’m still around Audi’s, having had 7 mk1 TT’s as daily drivers till the beginning of this year. My missus drives a mk2 TT tfsi Quattro sport as a daily but my latest choice is a diversion from the norm for me in the form of an Alfa Romeo Giulia 2.2JTDm sport. I still have my Audi 80 Quattro with its 2.3 7a 20v lump on ITB’s plus a few other toys!

Have met up with a few of the old guard at our Midlands Breakfast Club meets held at the Ironworks Centre, Oswestry over the last few years...

What’s changed for the rest of you!?

Great to see you on again Alistair, no change here since we last had a word, still got the daily C4 A6 (100 facelift) and the B3 80 Sport 16V.
Been a strange year with Covid, as you'll be aware AITP12 was cancelled and we were on for 80 cars on the Classic Audi stand.
We managed just one Noggin n Natter in February before things went tits up.
Roll on 2021.

Been bloody hard to moderate without admin. But fortunately the members here have been excellent and only occasionally fractious.

I feel like an intruder and imposter writing this as I have forsaken the Audi 4 ring circus for quite a few years now.

My experiences with the cars and more importantly with CA Forum was always positive, but sadly once the last Audi left my driveway, my visits to the Forum became less and less frequent.

Of course I have seen contributions from time to time on Facebook, but the reality is that I've fallen into the Volkswagen camp , having had many of the older models back in the day and now find the cars more easy to source parts for as well as being generally less costly to maintain, important when one is running life on a pension.

I noted Coxys comments about Facebook and am in agreement with what he says , particularly about the ease of posting pictures which as we all know "speak a 1000 words".

But ...and here is the big " BUT", today I spent a couple of hours reading through mikes2 posts to do with his renovating and re-building his Audi 90 quattro. Pages of posts and comments as well as wonderfully detailed pictures. It's a work of art and dedication to a project which is challenging and for me would have been a non starter . But nevertheless fascinating reading , particularly when you look at those rusty bits and bobs which he has somehow refurbished and got working again. So many useful links and instructions, "how to...... " Fantastic dedication Mike!

It is articles like that which make the Classic Audi Forum something that has to be kept going , I recognise all the old contributors and friends I made , plus a load of new folk who have joined. John, Sinbin5T , Hanuman, Vorsprung Durch Technik , Ben and so many others. Great to see you guys still loving your old Audis and making them still perform.

CA Forum must be kept going, it is as some others have said, a goldmine of useful information for the new generation of Audi owners to feast on and learn from, plus a place to share the highs and lows of the ownership of these classic cars .

Keep up the good work Guys , just sorry I can't share my pictures of Golf and Scirocco with you all.........you all

Frank

Well said Frank , could agree more , you could always send me your photos of your current stable via messenger and I’ll pop on here via Tapatalk if you wanted ...?

Cheers Chris

Thanks for the kind words from Frank.

Not much has changed for me. Still messing around with old Audis. Just don't have a 5 cylinder turbo quattro any more.

Good to hear from you Al!
I still log in and enjoy the forum as I am not really a facebook person though I have an account I very rarely use it or any social media platform.
My Cq still going strong now with around 450bhp on its latest hybrid turbo and planning a European tour in it with some Club Audi members next year.
Hope the forum can be kept as far prefer it to others

sadly not, RALF went to Audi UK, and my old C4 100 quattro was sold about 3 years ago.

I have a 1956 Oval Window beetle, 1967 VW Bay window, and a 1970 Type 3 notchback plus which I didn't own back then! More like going back to my roots with the air cooled VW's over the past few years!
