Won't last though.
My bet would be a subtle treatment with a heat gun and then stuff like forever black above. |

Yeh I'm sure you're right, but I don't have a heat gun, so thought I'd try something that I had.

Is satin the correct finish to go for though? It seems more matt finish?

Thanks for your thread Gmac...
I've been using CarPlan black trim wax on my 80 for several years now, it never seems to last for more than a week or two though, and it's a right pita to get it off the paintwork (and your hands!). Thanks to 86audicoupe, I'll be buying some Forever Black this weekend and binning the other stuff cuz having seen how easy it is to use (watched a video on YouTube), and how long it lasts (up to 7yrs!), it's bound to knock at least an hour off the time it takes me to clean & polish my boy, which has got to be a bonus. [EDIT] Have now bought some Forever Black bumper trim cleaner & dye from Amazon. I opted for the £16.99 version as it includes the separate sponge on stick applicator thingy (some reviews for the £15.99 version claim that the bottle/brush combi isn't great!). Order should be here between 16th & 20th April, so all I need once its here is a dry weekend to get the job done. Last edited by leggy; 12-04-15 at 10:06 AM. |
