Type 85 rear calipers, what fits?
Anyone know if there is a 'modern' plug and play rear caliper that fits the type 85 quattro? Like the ones Paul Fernandes sold? http://homepage.internet.lu/customau...0_90_4000.htm…
When Paul was selling up I got one of the last sets and asked what brake pads to get when for these calipers, he answered Audi A3 for example. So assuming A3/Golf mk.4 would fit I got myself a set of mk.4 rear calipers last week and just fitted one to my 90 quattro type 85. The calipers fit but the position for the handbrake cable is wrong and the hole for the brake hose is too big in diameter. Still got the CAC calipers in the box so can get the car through the MOT with them on but was trying to keep them new for one of my other 90 quattro restos. |
