I'm wrong with the info I've given you Craig. The photo (courtesy of AM Cars) showing the two different lots of mounts shows exactly how a gearbox/ diff mount should look for a ur. The one you've got, whilst it is a similar mount, is not the same as an OEM one. It may well be used on other VW/Audi cars as an engine mount but the crucial thing is, certainly not on a ur as described in the ebay sellers ad.

ok david - i'm sending it back to him anyway and if quattrorob's mounts are suitable then i'll get them from him as he has helped me in the past getting bits and seems like a sound chap.

cheers!

They were supplied by the customer as part of the build, so I don't know the price, sorry

From that pic, Craig-

item 23. 857199386A
is the metal heat shield. Simple bit of bent metal which may need some extra manipulation to fit. It mounts at the oil cooler bracket, and sits under the down pipe.
I'm sure if it's missing, then James will say so. If it's looking a bit scruffy, don't worry. If it's looking like a piece of rat eaten wafer, then buy, or get mades, a new one.
I was going to get some made in Stainless, but lost my little template

item 21. 443199469C
is a rubber shroud, which plays a part too. It may or may not already be in position. You can see it in one of the pics that was linked in the last few pages of this thread.

thanks for that, mark - i'll wait until i hear what the doc has to say about his findings first before i get involved in shocking myself with the cost of a new heat shield etc!
