I have the same engine in a 1994 saloon, I bought a powerspark distributor and swapped the hall sensor into my existing distributor and it seems to work fine, 10k miles with no problems.
Is the engine spinning over and sparking? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The diagnosis of hall sensor came from The AA. Whilst they might not be utterly perfect, they would have traced for a spark I am absolutely certain. Sadly, Powerspark can't help with anything at all. |

Might be a hassle buying a complete engine just for one part, but........

Thread update.
Unfortunately the dizzy is fine. We sent it away for testing and all is well. It feels like it wants to start but just can’t. We’re now thinking ignition module or crank sensor. Thoughts? |
