Where to buy coolant pipes (Ur Quattro)
Anyone got any suggestions, please?
One of the pipes has got a leak, and I don't expect the local motor factor to be able to source a replacement pipe! |

A couple of years ago my own Ur quattro had a drip from the top hose to the auxiliary radiator
at the front of the engine, after 30 years fitted to the car the area where the jubilee clip clamped round the hose started to rot, now another hose is starting to drip coolant I have ordered a silicon set of coolant hoses from Amber Performance on Ebay, they have a 30 day order time will let you known what they are like. |

Thanks, that sounds good.
This place appears to do the right hoses https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/...-turbo-quattro but sometimes you go to order the part and then it can't be sourced etc. |

The people who did the engine work on my 90 20v recently had to fit a new radiator as the old one had a porous core. When it came to piping it up, the correct hoses are NLA; so they laid out what they needed on the bench, looked up what they had in stock (VW/Audi specialist repairers) and cobbled things up with ally joiners, etc. Alles is now gut and working as it should!
Reminds me of a thread I saw just after I joined up about the power steering cooling pipe that John's mate made up from copper plumbing bit'n'bobs. May be a case of taking the old ones to your local friendly factor and having a look in the parts bins. Last edited by SwallownAmazon; 30-08-17 at 02:38 PM. |
