86 ur turbo heater controls
Hi
Never had the slider panel off or apart but the sliders are all without any resistance and do nothing. Is that a fault of a control valve etc? Not sure how this works. Blower operates fine but sliders neither change heat output or direction of air flow. Appreciate guidance. Thanks |

Sounds like the stainless wire that attaches to the rear of the hot/ cold adjuster has come off. Quite often the end snap's off the wire. Giving the adjuster little resistance when moving side to side.
Failing that it's the hot to cold valve in the engine bay. Have a look between the back of the engine block and the bulkhead. Just a tad over the the passenger side you should see a plastic valve with a metal arm on it, this is the opposite end of where the wire from inside the cabin connects to.

Many thanks. Very useful. I'll do just that at the weekend. It's never been an issue but maybe the cable has gone now. Has it got a bullet end to the cable? Just thinking I could replace it with cable we use at work if it's now unavailable.

The heater valve looks like this. You can see where the cable run's through the adjuster arm.
The heater controls in the cabin look like this one you've removed the heater facia. You can see the end of the cable has a plastic barb on the end.
