3 speed auto - filter or not? B3 1988

Sorry another gearbox question. Ive had contradicting info as to whether or not my 3 speed auto box has a filter (hydraulic fluid filter) or not? Any idea?

It probably has a paper filter. Take a look at the on-line parts catalogue below, to be sure....

My 1988 A100 3 speed auto has one - an 'oil strainer'.
The need for cleanliness on an auto box suggests filtration is essential.

Yes its that strainer that's popped up on my radar when doing part searches for the sump gasket on eBay, yet it doesnt show in the exploded pdf diagram for my auto box
