Paul Harris 1938 - 2015
The news does not seem to have spread as far as Classic Audi Forum, but Paul Harris, the Editor of Audi Driver magazine, passed away on July 3 after a long fight against cancer.
His funeral is in Milton Keynes on July 16. A copy of his obituary can be found at www.autometrix.co.uk |

Thank you for letting us know Neil. Very sad news as I remember him and you being , I think , the founders of Audi Driver magazine. Certainly remember his Editorial introductions.
RIP Paul. |

Thank you Neil for confirming the rumours we had heard. An inspiratonal figure and like Peter Noad had a long and respected knowledge of the Volkswagen Audi brand. He was also like Bob Wyse founder of VW Safer Motoring, tireless in their passion but as Neil has said private and not always easy to get on with. Having spoken to him many times he was courteous but quite quiet, but then he was always busy coordinating the event I was attending. I remember the Beeting Magazine and the VW Actions at the Stonleigh in the 80's. His decision.to launch Volkswagen Audi Car was inspirational and so well timed as so many VW enthusiasts had converted to the watercooled models. While this magazine went from
strength to strength VW Motoring started featuring cal look Beetle restoration's, I soon switched camps. When you think of the Autometrix publications, the formation of Club Audi and the major events like VW Action. GTI International and Audi Driver International his contribution to the VW Audi Scene was massive

Neil, please pass on our sincere condolences to both his family and work colleagues. I have known Paul for nearly 25 years and enjoyed his dry humour on many occasions. The world of VAG is a poorer world tonight...
