Cold air vents in a B3??

Ok folks another crazy one for someone to answer lol!
Is there anyway of having the centre vents in the dash cold air only like the way it was in the B2's??
And still having warm air at your feet??

Has anyone done this before? Is it possible?
Really bugs me that they have stooped this, it means i drive with the window down a bit constantly now, and as anyone with a B£ knows, how fun that can be with the wipers on in the rain!
