Interesting the way the service book is photographed. The second and third pages are spread out, but the first page is photographed at 90 degrees so as not to show the page with the official sticker on it.

Hmmm.

Is this a cover-up? Does the missing page in fact NOT have the original factory sticker on it. Are we looking at a duplicate?

We have a budding miss marple on our hands :P lol To be honest I'd not noticed any of those points, I was too busy picking my chin up off the floor after reading the price!

I would have thought at that price you'd want everything absolutely above board and perfect, thats what supposedly justifies the price

Have to say I read Phil's buying guide on UR's over the weekend, t'was a good read

and thats probably the thing, most of us would see the big price and assume it must be absolutely perfect and no due care or attention is neccessary. If it's a duplicate book then I'd want to know why. End of the day no matter what the price buyer beware. Your cash is hard earned and easily spent. Not that I am ever able to lay my hands easily on a grand these days never mind 30 of 'em

It has a cloth interior?
I thought by 85 the leather was standard till they went to the mixed leather and "quattro" cloth.

That's why you need the sticker - if the factory built it with a leather interior, the 'M' codes on the sticker will include '079'. Even though it was standard from a sales point of view, as far as the factory was concerned leather was always an option. Ditto the paint codes, etc.

I'm happy when inspecting to get either the copy in the boot or the copy in the service book, as long as it matches the VIN and practice at the time.

I'd rather spend that kind of money on a Ferrari 308GTB or 328 GTS. More pedigree and better appreciating..and parts are available
