100 S4 ufo brake discs...
Attention needed for my Audi 100 S4 1992 please.
Im in need of front brake discs & pads on my Audi 100 S4. It has the UFO type discs set up at the moment but now needs replacing, These UFO type are now obsolete and ive heard i can use the set up of an A6 Quattro etc. Has any body got anything Suitable for me or has used an alternative set up to them orignal UFO's & can tell me exactly what is needed or where to buy from please ??? |

IIRC you'll need the complete strut assembly from the late urs4 or urS6. The parts should be about, plenty of the poor urS4/6 have been sacrificed at the altar of urQuattro rally recreations, or whatever.

No, unless you want to swap existing brakes for something weaker. If you still want to have brakes with the stopping power as much as S4 is supposed to have, there are two routes. One was mentioned by Adrian - UrS6 struts with HP2 brakes, full kit. Another route is to modify your existing UFO stuff to accept A8 brakes, but that involves turner and therefore may not be feasible for you. Here are some pictures, only text is in latvian... http://audi-style.lv/forum/topic/616...-bremzēm/

That's just a crazy price for a pair of ufo discs from tradition. 924 euros.
Here's a couple of links of ebay de ( Germany ) It's not cheap but at least you get the legs and callipers for less than the above leaving enough change to buy discs and pads. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Audi-S4-S6-V8...3D292134584577 On this one below it shows good pictures of the arrangement bolted together. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Audi-S4-S6-C4...3D292134584577 |

I did not try to offer the cheapest way to get the car on the road again. I only wanted to mention that UFO disks are not obsolete. If one wants to keep his car in original condition, this could be a way.

By contrast with the carbon brake of the Audi A8 UFO's are a bargain offer. Considering the work that needs to be done when switching UFO brake with HP2 and the risk of purchasing possibly faulty used parts (especially the HP2 brake calipers) it may be worth a consideration to replace the old UFO discs with new ones. And if the UFO brake is well serviced, it is much better than it's reputation.
