Audi Museum
Hello all. I will be driving over to Munich next month with exhibition goods and plan to turn right to Ingolstadt on the way.
Questions are, is it open weekends? Is it free (will go in anyway)? Can you just turn up. Thanks Alan |

We went a couple of years ago at Easter.
Being Easter Sunday, we wasn't expecting it to be open as a lot of places around Munich where we were staying were closed on the Sunday, but the Audi museum was open. It did cost to get in, but it wasn't that much. IIRC, it was around 7 euro's each. There's a superb cafe/restaurant there as well and was fairly reasonable. We caught the train from Munich to Ingolstadt and then a Taxi to the Museum. The express trains cost a little more and take just over 30 minutes. The stopping train takes around 50 minutes. |

We returned in 2010 and happened to meet Thomas Frank, the head of Audi Tradition, outside. If you turn up in an "old Audi" as the Frau on the gate called it, you can park on the Piazza in front of the museum. We parked up next to Thomas Frank's series 1 Coupe and after a bit of a chat he got us in the museum for free So, I haven't actually paid to go in but I think it is only a couple euros. It is open weekends, but not everything on Sunday. Info here - http://www.audi.com/com/brand/en/exp...container=page And as Coxy says, the cafe is very good and not at all extortionate. Time for a gratuitous photo . More here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/3765454...7624211039403/

Rich - sounds an excellent trip, just a word of advice, you are allowed to look at the NSU's but don't you dare touch em or I'll send the boys round !
