Default '88 Coupe GT 1.8
Vehicle Make : Audi
Vehicle Model : Audi Coupe GT
Price : ££1795
Location : Rustington West Sussex
On Ebay : Ebay Link

Found on ebay this evening. Only a 1.8 so you won't get that five pot sound we all love but nonetheless this could be a nice motor for someone.

If it is has good as it looks with a FSH then I reckon this could push towards the asking price but it would have to be very very good. Lack of an extra pot in the engine probably counts against it in the long run.

Nice colour too

the Coupe equivalent of the 80 Sport.........

Lighter and less nose heavy, and probably better MPG too (and a higher top gear than a Sport too)

Buy it now price is £1550. Has he dropped it?

If it really is as good as the owner says it could be worth it. Nice car with 1.8 injected 115bhp engine. There was also a 1.8 carburettor 90bhp, but IIRC it had been discontinued by the time this very late car was made. I don't like the colour though.

Dear BBC Points of View,

Why oh why is it always low mileage imacculate 1.8 GT's for sale, usually with tow bars and automatic transmission although this one is rare being a manual, but still rather nice indeed....

Yours

How about a nice 2.2 GT five pot for a change?

Dear Mart from Towcester

it's probably fue to the fact that only old people owned this type of car. No Coupe should ever be fitted with a towbar. If you want to tow something get a big lorry.

I hope this answers your question. If not you can always try Dear Deirdre over at the Sun for all your personal problem answers.

Regards

Dear Fat Controller,

Thanks for your quick and detailed response, I am happy to hear that you have been promoted from looking after that stupid kids steam train (named after the cockney slang for having a w$%k) and the ex beatle to God of the BBC.

I too thought the same about the dear old folk and their use of a nice but underpowered GT to tow their beloved Ci Sprite. As the custodian of the BBC you must not call them old people anymore, they should be reffered to as people of vintage years. Afterall we don't want another Russell Brand on our hands (ooooo that sounds quite wrong)

I would seek to have my presonal problems resolved by the Sun but unfortunately Dear Deidre is busy working closely right now with other members of the forum who cannot be named. From what I can ascertain they are undergoing rehabilitation for dressing up in woman's underwear and having their way with the exhaust pipe of any Audi that comes their way....

Thanks

Mart from Towcester

Mart, I keep wondering this, Is it hot living in toaster? And do you find crumbs everywhere?
