Odometer and trip not working on my B4 80

Morning folks!

Just got myself a b4, and it's a 2.0e, one of the problems i've got is the odometer and trip aren't winding on.

From the little bit of reading i've done, could this be worn out cogs on the back of the dash, two small cogs are prone to wearing out supposedly.

Any other suggestions before i start pulling it apart. And is there any good guides for this?

Not yet bud, I've been away with work this week, hopefully get time next week!

As an aside, I emailed the guy on the odometer gears.com website marked as the uk supplier, but he emailed back saying that he only supplies the BMW ones! Go figure! Oh well. I'll need to speak to them direct and get them direct from the states!
