does anyone know of a company that can repair these old cassette players?
mine makes a hideous screeching sound when you turn the volume up or down!

Sure that isn't just the sort of music you listen to?

http://www.carhifiservices.com/index.php I had this lot make 1 from 2 non working sets. They're in Denny, near where the M876 meets the M80. You could try them ?

Some geezer in the midlands , he refurbs and tests everything to as new which does cost but you would be surprised how good they are when sorted out for 80s stuff

If you know a certain bit has died then it is possible as people have said to swap bits over. I swopped the cassette mechanism from one to the another on a SQR46. Thought I might still have it somewhere but can't seem to find it now! That/s a bit of downer as I have just seen these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/blaupunkt-...item2a304dc2e3

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-VINTA...item43bbc83842

I did find my SQR48 though so all is not lost! I guess that too modern for you though.

yes, i saw those ones on ebay but just look at those prices!!

i'd like mine repaired but i'm not going to go silly money for it. if it's past it
then it will just stay slotted in where it's always been - i prefer the sound
of the quattro's engine to any music!!
