There was a chassis break point just after the introduction of the quattro type 44. About a year in- circa late 85/86, I think. Audi list many of the later parts as replacements/alteratives, when in fact the designs changed considerably, even if visually there is only a subtle difference.

I believe it starts off in the crossmember. The later parts having such things as shorter threaded shafts in some cases. So the part looks right, but a nut will not go on.

This may be where you need to retain the old worn item, and hand it to your friendly machine shop, to see if a replacement can be made specially.

Superflex sell the raw material for making bushes and mounts, even if they don't stock a direct replacement bush.
So maybe contacting someone like Banbridge(?) and supplying the raw material, you could get bushes made.

nope haven't. For a reason.

@Mark that would be an option yes, but for the moment the car needs a MOT asap. Will see what my brother does afterwards, I guess it will get a kick in the butt soon.
