Good advice from all and some very nice buildings, please remember the planning guidance and building standards regulations for England and Wales is different from Scotland in fact
some of the guidance and regulation differ between council's due to their take on each, you do need to contact the council and ask for the planning or building standards duty officer for your local area. |

Thanks Colin and everyone else for the very informative reply's . Much appreciated
It's hard not having Dad around anymore in lots of ways .. one of which was being able to ask him lots of questions like this. He was a very capable handy man and an ex pattern maker +before the days of CNC machines, and would build massive structures out of pollystyrine just from following massive blue prints hung on the wall of his work shop. He always claimed to have made the pattern for the bonnet on the first generation range rover.. There was a wealth of skill and knowledge that i feel has been lost forever with his passing. And I so wish I had his skills, but i don't. I always wanted him to teach me how to fiber glass. But you always think there is still time, and you put things off for another day. Then one day it's too late. Still feels like just yesterday he was still here.. And I miss him alot . Guess I never expected it to happen so suddenly. he was as fit as a fiddle, He was even a keen weight lifter in his younger days and was as strong as an ox . Would be nice if i could finish this for him, and maybe learn a few skills along the way . |
