Do you mean the transverse rod that locates the axle sideways? If so, it's the Panhard rod.

Hi NPV, Hope you are safe and well.
Is the 90cd a quattro or two wheel drive as the rear ends are different ?
Can you provide the age of the car ?

While your under there give the axle mounts a good check out if you haven’t already, nasty area for hidden rot.

Unfortunately a few B2s have fallen foul, luckily I caught my drivers side just in time, very luckily, there wasn’t much left!

NPV how is life on the Isle of Lewis in the current times we find our self in, all well here just waiting on the vaccination to roll out, hopefully it will be the turning point in what has been a year of lock down and self isolation for many of us.
Anyway on to better things, image below hopefully should be of the rear end of your car,
No.1 is your rear axle beam this has two trailing arm that run forward and mount behind the sill area of the car just in front of the rear wheels with a rubber bush No.22 part number 811511247, No.15 is the panhard rod that mounts to the rear axle beam and to a bracket on the car floor and mount each end with a rubber bush No.16 part number 431505172, I do think I have all of these bushes but will need to look them out, give me a couple of days, I will PM you
