Great!
Do you remember what size rings you used? 3/8 1/2 or 3/4 seem standard, also 2-8mm I’d have thought small. I can’t find a physical shop near me with them, and I’m amazed how hard it is to find someone selling those pliers with ,say, 50 small rings that can get them to me soon. Not via China! Sorry, don't have the details of the rings I bought.
Could measure one tomorrow if it helps.

Thanks everyone. It is very helpful and much appreciated for you to take the time to provide these answers.
I have ordered the pads for one seat, 200 rings and a pair of special pliers. Have to do it soon as the seats are in my lounge... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It would be great once you've finished to get it all written up, together, as a how to. The old write ups are based on stuff previously available. It needs updating.

I’m happy to do that it will be a bit like the blind leading the visually impaired though!
The pads I’m getting are carbon fibre apparently. So I may just cut slots in them for where the hog rings have to fit, and let the pad get sandwiched by the bars. The seat back seems more simple...

Re not cutting around the bar, personally I wouldn’t do that as it’ll pull the heated pad right in and down when you put the bar in, it’ll crinkle/distort to no obvious gain
