My experiences with the cars and more importantly with CA Forum was always positive, but sadly once the last Audi left my driveway, my visits to the Forum became less and less frequent.

Of course I have seen contributions from time to time on Facebook, but the reality is that I've fallen into the Volkswagen camp , having had many of the older models back in the day and now find the cars more easy to source parts for as well as being generally less costly to maintain, important when one is running life on a pension.

I noted Coxys comments about Facebook and am in agreement with what he says , particularly about the ease of posting pictures which as we all know "speak a 1000 words".

But ...and here is the big " BUT", today I spent a couple of hours reading through mikes2 posts to do with his renovating and re-building his Audi 90 quattro. Pages of posts and comments as well as wonderfully detailed pictures. It's a work of art and dedication to a project which is challenging and for me would have been a non starter . But nevertheless fascinating reading , particularly when you look at those rusty bits and bobs which he has somehow refurbished and got working again. So many useful links and instructions, "how to...... " Fantastic dedication Mike!

It is articles like that which make the Classic Audi Forum something that has to be kept going , I recognise all the old contributors and friends I made , plus a load of new folk who have joined. John, Sinbin5T , Hanuman, Vorsprung Durch Technik , Ben and so many others. Great to see you guys still loving your old Audis and making them still perform.

CA Forum must be kept going, it is as some others have said, a goldmine of useful information for the new generation of Audi owners to feast on and learn from, plus a place to share the highs and lows of the ownership of these classic cars .

Keep up the good work Guys , just sorry I can't share my pictures of Golf and Scirocco with you all.........you all

Frank

I am still disgusted by the amount of classic Audis wearing incorrect font number plates, gone over to the dark side (BMW), a fair bit fatter, but still a big Human League fan. All good*.

*Apart from the fat bit.

Have met up with a few of the old guard at our Midlands Breakfast Club meets held at the Ironworks Centre, Oswestry over the last few years...

What’s changed for the rest of you!?

Good to see you back fella! I am finally trying to get my CQ type 85 converted to AAN power . Only been put on tge back burner for about 10 years now . Lol

I'm trying to get all the bit I need though, So fingers crossed.

BTW I don't know if you had a notification at all but I made a payment to the forum some months ago to be a fully paid up member of the forum?

I'm still waiting on the upgrade to my account but nobody seems to have the required Administrator privileges to do it?

Good to see a number of the old names still alive and active on here! Hardly logged in over the past few years as most of the traffic seems to be on FB but it’s so good to see this place still alive and active

Just picked up on this guys. As everyone says, good to meet albeit virtually. Unless I missed it, anyone heard from Micky?

Still have all my garage selection, that said my 1978 Cav Coupe will be on the market this year. It's diff was whining worse than a scouser losing to United (doesn't matter which United ) . All fixed now, getting new shoes and electronic ignition. Its a 100hp beast! And scousers still whine about Utd

My 1977 100 LS Auto I have bought three or four gearboxes for, despite Martin and Robs efforts I think I have finally Gok Wan that fits last January (after 8 years of searching!). If this takes off then build thread will follow, plus if Martin is still speaking to me, my RO80 too and sincere thanks to Rob for delivering the gearbox, it just "waadnee go" as my Jocktacular friend says.

Have to say strayed slightly, having written off my Vectra B and Honda, my current squeeze is a 1999 Jag S Type 3.0 Auto. 240 bhp armchair. Big smiles. But also have a Vectra Elite 3.0 V6 Elite CDTI. affectionately known as the skip. Just had it fully brought to spec (and some). Again big smiles in this thing.

After Lockiedown will be back Telford way again, not been there since 2018

Note to self: fcuk Facebook, the **** has enough money, put phone down and log on like a normal person.
