Ah, but you are comparing against todays standards....but at the time I'm guessing they were the dogs "do dahs" .
In recent times, and by that I mean the past 25+ years, I reckon cars have stood the test of time very well. I was given/loaned an Audi A5 saloon from the local Audi dealer recently whilst having something or other done on an Audi A4 TDI I had, and for me the earlier cars were far preferable...for a start I couldn't work out how to get into the car and once in , couldn't start it. That aside, I found the very low side roof line quite claustrophobic. Looks good from outside tho'.
My cq still ticks all the boxes for me as indeed I'm sure many of the UR brigade find as well, otherwise we'd not all be spending hard earned dosh keeping the oldies going.
