Default Pricey clutch fluid reservoir

Hey all you quattro heads.

I saw an old episode of Wheeler Dealers where they had to purchase a new clutch fluid reservoir for a 1985 quattro. The damn thing cost £65!

Is that right?

There was mention of it on here at the time, I think the cars are actually sold by the production company after the filming? i.e. Not to the 'buyers' on the show. Pick the off the street I think. I remember a link to the sale, can't remember if it was an auction or on a Car and Classic type site.

I watched that last night as well. These days a lot of people are using other reservoirs that do the same job for a fraction of the money. My mate has a brembo bike pot that cost 8 quid. Exactly the same size. On ebay theres a shagged looking one that the seller has been relisting for weeks and weeks - thats 45 quid!!

I remember seeing the link on here for the sale of this quattro. It never got sold to the bloke who buys it on the show - im sure somebody in the know says there was more wrong with it than was let on.

i find it miraculous to believe that they did that old squib up for a couple of grand. let's face it, most of us who own ur quattros know that it's one thing after the next and it's never ending (hence the nickname "moneypit"). did they mention replacing the shot gearstick knob or the smashed indicator lens??

i was busy shouting at the telly, "AYE YER F**KIN' ARSE!"

I think that episode of Wheeler Dealer was filmed about 2009 so i'm quite suprised at what they paid for that Ur then, seems very cheap to me. Maybe i was ripped off with mine!

If you had to pay labour costs to restore then the moneypit may have to be bottomless.

Them shows are just for entertainment and don't match reality one bit.

Taken with a pinch of salt....
