Oil in air filter
When i had oil in the air filter a few months back the garage changed breather pipes and suggested lack of use can cause this. As it is a weekend car that does few miles would a slightly thinner grade oil help? Currently on shell helix 10w40

What Engine number, Audi model, just a wee bit more information on the car would help.

Take off the filler cap, seal the hole with your hand, does it suck your hand in, or blow past it? Cleaning the pcv valve out with carb cleaner would be the best start. On my 2.8 30v b5 it was down to old pcv/ vacuum pipes. It was hard to diagnose because they only collapsed under load (throttle). I changed a few and put copper tube in some to stop them crushing.
