Struggling to find part # for Fan Sensor
The fan is staying on all the time (even when engine has long since been turned off) so we think that the sensor is defective.
We have traced the problem to the sensor switch that is on the rear of the radiator (on the inboard side). However, the issue is that we can't see the relevant component on the Exploded Parts Diagram anywhere -unless anyone else can spot it?: http://www.oemepc.com/audi/part_sing.../lang/e#sec_45 If you look at the un-numbered entries between Component #28 and #29 on the list there is a possible item listed - Audi Part # 034919369B However, this doesn't quite look right (different elec socket on it) https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/oen...34919369b.html Any advice/assistance would be appreciated! |

Is this the after run relay? You don't say what car it is but the turbo cars have a large relay that has a diode inside which burns out and causes the fan to run all the time. Had the same issue on my S2.

A couple of issues here.
Not sure what checks have been done but if the engine is off and the fan is running, it cannot be the sensor in the radiator as that only works with ignition. That's on this page http://www.oemepc.com/audi/part_sing.../258868/lang/e The afterrun sensor doesn't sit in the radiator. It's normally on a bracket at the rear of the cylinder head next to the brake master cylinder area on a rhd car. So you've got the wrong illustration It's number #35 on this one http://www.oemepc.com/audi/part_sing.../255552/lang/e
