Default Warning lights 85' 100

When I put the keys in the ignition I get a light that flashes on and bleeps 3 times. It's a circle with an i in the middle.

It also does it when on full lock steering and when the steering is jerked quickly to one side, also when I've hit potholes (it's on chopped springs).

Any ideas?

I have had a few Type 44 100s. The Auto Check system should light up on starting but go out first time you touch the brakes, I believe that is normal.

You mention steering - in terms of faults however, the power steering hydraulics can lead to warnings when the fluid falls low or the pressure in the system is low. My knowledge is limited, but I understand that this hydraulic system also provides the brake servo. There is a pressure accumulator -sometime referred to as "the brake bomb" - if this does not hold good pressure, using the brakes repeatedly of turning full lock can trigger the warning light and beeps until the pressure recovers.

I am no mechanic, and happy to be corrected on all of the above.

If the car is equipped with a hydraulic brake booster it means that the hydraulic oil pressure has decreased below minimum. Mostly caused by a worn pressure accumulator or / and a leaking brake booster.

It was low on fluid.

That's another little niggle off the list
