not quite a 'drop in' sadly,flywheel/clutch/linkage/final drive are all different. As said by someone else I should think you would be hard pressed to find a replacement nowadays,Roger galvin might be worth asking as he has a few 200s and no doubt a load of spares

Oh be very careful here chaps. Yep its rare, and getting rarer if someone doesn't save it. So approx 130,000 miles allegedly. The ticking which goes away when warm is probably a cracked manifold. Unless you can find a two-piece Audi replacement you will be looking at a Dialynx jobby. Finding the correct gearbox in working order might be a huge issue or the alternative of reconning the existing one hugely expensive. The car is ruined for me by those painted bumpers, why can't these people grasp that originality is beautiful?

Opening bid of £595 for a car with no MOT or gearbox, my zermatt silver 200q avant is still for sale, it goes, has an MOT and incudes the registration A200 AV - or shall I break it to mend this red one??? Will no-one give me £750?

if you really really really want it then you could make a great car the only down side is when it comes to resale you wont get even half what you paid to get it up to scratch .so be prepared to keep it as these big barges don't hold on to the money as the ur's ect .which is why most get broke up to keep the ur's on the road .Probably why so little remain.but i hope someone is brave enough to take it on

I went to look at it and thanks to everyone for all the advice on what to look for.

I didn't bid in the end but it was a nice car in generally good order. Needed a few bits doing, apart from the gear box, so should make someone a good project.
