I once tackled our old mk3 Astra 1.4 LS 60bhp hi torque engine doing exactly that.The water pump was solid in there and took about 2hrs careful tapping,
to get it to twist i think? and remove. All the best with it. With you on the............ could do without any or .

You will be ok, remember patience is you friend, take your time, because when you decide to smash the sh it out of it with the nearest heavy object you don't want to rush and hit your fingers.

I'll bear that in mind .

Already stripped out most of the front end and cooling system without any problems.
Just got to remove the secondary rad then it's onto the job proper.

Have got the necessary crank locking tool and torque multiplier plus an absolute beast of a torque wrench.......3/4" or 1" drive, 1500mm long and up to 1000Nm.
That should take care of the crank pulley bolt !!

Fingers crossed.

Cheers VDT. Hope not to be tapping for half a day, pump was replaced in 2012 so hopefully............
