boot lifters

hi i wonder if anyone can help me on this one i have a 1986 facelift 80 b2 saloon that has gas struts that aren't great so boot won't stay up but will it have the torsion bar system under the rear shelf as well or is it one or the other.many thanks in advance for any help to save me taking the seat and shelf out

811 827 552 A are the part number for the struts. 2 are needed and i payed 38 euro for the pair of them, non Audi branded though.
