Dialynx or Audi
My Audi exhaust manifold has been welded where it cracked in 3 places, I've had some other work done to it as well so have ended up spending £130 on it. It's ready to go back on but I'm nervous about the welds and am thinking it might be better to get a Dialynx as it would be very annoying if the Audi one cracked after putting my engine back together. It's a common topic I know but what are peoples opinions???

Mine are well known. I bought my wr quattro with a Dailynx manifold in place, which lasted for 30k miles before it had warped and pulled the bolts out of the head.So the head and manifold had to be replaced with Audi parts which I expect to last for at least 90k miles.
I have heard that a decent repair is able to hold up well but have no first hand experience on that, but I certainly wouldn't go down the Dailynx route from experience. |

dialynx are known for warping and cracking i believe... more info on quattroforum as people have had very different outcomes from a dialynx manifold.

you have to weld the cast manifold in a special way .like heating it up first or the weld won't be proper .i had dialynx one on my car and it was ok no problems at all .

With cast welding you need enough heat in the surrounding area for the weld pool to fuse properly... I've not had a stab at fixing my manifold yet but i'm considering taking it into the university mechanisation labs to test out.
