Default B3 mats

Hello!

My original mats are too rare for day to day use.

I’m toiling to find decent B3 mats. Are the B4 mats the same?

Shame you never mentioned earlier as the rubber ones in the coupe are out the B4 and you could have tried them 👍🏼👍🏼. The passengers side is a pretty good fit, but drivers not so much, but they are from an Auto

Good idea well presented, wish I’d thought of it earlier!

Ive got a set of carpet mats in the loft, i cant remember when i got them or what they were out of but i can send you some pics and try them in the 90 if u want. They are genuine audi, think they are grey(ish) though. Not mint but if you want them for every day...?

The rubber set are properly durable, ive had a set for over 10 years and with regular non agressive cleaning / dose of vinyl and rubber care they look spot on still.

OK, here we go...

I cannot for the life of me remember how I came about these, normally I have a recollection of searching for and finding the car in a scrap yard and getting other bits at the same time - I wouldn't have just gone for a set of mats . Leads me to think they were a work find and I've brought them home and added them to a pile.

Anyway, I digress...

They are in fact a legit graphite set from a B3 - possibly a coupe as they are a subtly different shape than the rubber set I have.

They do however follow the contours of the floor nicely and cut in around the sides as you can see. The passenger ones also fit nicely. The metal reinforced holes line up with the screws in the floor.

The not so good bits - The blackness has worn off most of the Audi rings, the drivers one obviously has seen a lot of use and is wearing very thin under the heel. It hasn't holed yet, but without adding something underneath it may well do soon? The backing is a kind of rubber over a hessian type material, it is through to the hessian.

Having said that they are a rare and complete set, the right colour and the binding around the edges is all good.

Let me know what you think
