Only that I bought a brand new van in 93, used rain-x on it, then every few months it needed blades, they were rotting along the edge and leaving streaks, this is brand new wipers mind. I continued using rain-x and after 1 year it had gone through 3 or 4 sets of blades.

The mechanic suggested stopping the use of rain-x as he had seen this before and suspected it was the chemicals in the formula, I did stop and used isopropyl to clean the glass and the next set of wipers lasted a year. Same brand (bosch) from same place.

Just my own experience, nothing more.

Fair enough, I've never had any problems with it, but I don't use my car much so maybe that has something to do with it

Craig if yours work anything like these at 125mph then get them removed because they are pretty useless on these DAF supplied wiper arms.
I mean truck wipers on a high speed train, how cheap is that!

When was the last time you seen a truck doing 125?

SKOOSHERS.

Don't know about yours craig but on my Ur when you use the Skooshers you end up soaking about the next seven following cars they are that powerful,
...and they work whether the lights are on or not.

I think virgin cut back on the options.

or DER SKOOSHERS, i think was the official audi terminology!

yes, the quattro is the first car i've had with them and imagine my dismay when bolly
and i went to buy it and it was "crying" out of one of them as it sat there ready to be sold on!! anyway, it wasn't long before the pinkish paint was replaced and lucky me to find stevie at dalry coachworks, who is also an audi fanatic who fixed it when the car was in for some paintwork! you should see the size of the tubing leading to the skooshers - it's like a garden hose!! no wonder those in your wake get drenched!! mind are strictly a "headlamps on" affair and like to make a mess of my windscreen just to know that the headlamp skooshers are doing there thing, should an oncoming skoosher fan be watching!!

actually, now i'm on a roll, here are some of my favourite headlamp wash/ wipe systems (gawd help us!) - i can vividly remember going to the scottish car show in the kelvin hall in glasgow in the 70s and early 80s and being mesmerised at the thought of such devices. and yes, i've always been easily pleased too..

and my personal favourite out of the lot, as seen on the 635csi - how on earth did they make that lot work in unison??!

actually, i might ask for a part exchange on the quattro for that one!!

To satisfy your curiosity, I could go all ano-rakish, and bombard you with photos of the various travesties we laughingly call wipers.
Or
I could just taunt you.

Taunting it is...

FYI. if we did have mini spoilers on our wipers, i'm sure they would fall off (or be launched) on first application. Seriously, you cannot imagine the the comic effect!

I'm the same, don't use it much but then I don't use the wipers as much 'cause the screen's RainX'd
