Wanted - Abs sensor connector
Hi all.
Hoping someone can help me here. I am on the lookout for a yellow 2-pin 'socket' connector, as found on the front (and one rear) abs sensors on an Ur quattro Ive tracked down my abs fault to a broken pin receiver on the front left sensor. I'm sure other 80/coupe/100/200 models use the same connector. Condition of sensor &/or wiring not too relevant as I can patch in my own, it's just the connector I really need. Or if anyone has a usuable sensor, (I know they are rare) please let me know, willing to purchase whatever anyone has. Part nos. 443 927 803A or Bosch 0 265 001 039 Bosch 0 265 001 040 Many thanks in advance https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vWV...w?usp=drivesdk

Is it the connector on the car you need or the sensor plug ?

Hi Mike, it's the one on the end of the sensor, a female connector.
I'm also looking into the option of grafting the connector (which is black) and cable from 4A0927803 which is available new as an aftermarket item as on closer inspection, my cable is brittle and pretty much shot. Will likely have to compensate for differing lengths. My preference would be for a yellow s/hand connector to maintain originality though

Can't help with a yellow one I'm afraid. It would be black
Those aftermarket sensors are so cheap - about £12. That's what I've used on my 90 quattro 20v.

Agreed, at £12.40 each, it's cheap enough to bin the sensor and just have it for the cable (with rubber grommets etc too ) Seems the route to go.

ABS sensor repair
Today's little task was to resolve the lack of wheel speed signal from the front left wheel on my quattro.
I already knew the cable was goosed as it has gone brittle and looked to have been repaired at least once before. Once of the car, the sorry excuse for a cable was revealed in all its horror !! Add in the fact that the connector (at the strut top) has lost part of one socket, it was time for some surgery Yesterday's mail brought a donor sensor - 4A0927803 listed as being for various C4 100 Avants - that would provide a new cable & connector. As you can see overall a good 150mm shorter, but has all the right rubber bits included - crucially, these were not bonded to the cable allowing them to be suitably placed for correct cable positioning on the car. With the exception of colour, the connector is identical This may see a coat of yellow paint at some point for the sake of originality. Leaving 6" of cable attached to my original sensor, the new cable was spliced in, each core individually sleeved with heat-shrink, followed by a wrap of tape for strength, then an outer sleeve of heat-shrink. The area where the cable enters the sensor has since also received a wrap of tape to help prevent the cable breaking at this point. Once refitted to the car and happy with how the cable was positioned, the rubber grommet sleeves received a drop of glue to prevent the cable sliding out of position. The sensor was then adjusted using an oscilloscope, to match the output signal from the front right sensor, a test drive confirmed all was well - no abs light and a reassuring chatter from the abs under extreme braking. All for under £15 I know the front right sensor cable is in a similar, but slight better condition, so having proved the theory, I feel a repeat performance coming on soon !
