Coupe quattro uprated brake recommendations

A fella from Belfast/NI worked on the setup that I now have on my UR. He specifically wanted as much off the shelf stuff as possible for service, to fit inside the standard 15" Ronal without mods. His starting point being a readily available calliper- brembo from a boxter, and a standard disc. He mocked up his own bracket in plastic, before having it made in Aluminium.

The A100 (5-bolt) disc is 288x25mm, compared with 280x22mm for early Quattro's using G54 single pots, and 276x25 for later G60 twin pots.
I think there is a slightly wide disc that works, but I can't vouch for that.

Maybe you could get the same result starting with finding a suitable 4-bolt disc, and the same calipers?

Before I went to a brembo setup, I uprated from the original single pot calliper to the twin pot, which was a marked improvement.

Great pic, Is there a particular model and year of manufacture of Boxster that I need to look out for. Cheers

I think mine came from a 2004 2.7boxter. Or something of that ilk.

For what it's worth-

The 5stud Quattro disc for G60 calipers (late WR, MB, RR) 276x25, PFD 112, has a height of 46mm
The 4stud B4 era 1991 disc listed for the coupe, cabriolet, etc V6, 276x25 pcd 108, has a height of 56mm

What hat height does the disc that you have, use?

I've dug the above info from Euro car parts (based on model info).

Thats a shame i use the 5w-40 grade,unless of course you can accommodate that?

When I got my ur, it had Brembo brakes on the front.

The discs came from the sport quattro - 295x28mm

From memory 968/944 fronts with a sport quattro disc, 996 fronts (same as boxster s) with a sport quattro disc, you will need appropriate brackets for either.

Vented rear setup, or go the whole hog and fit monoblocs with an aux handbrake caliper, but that is expensive.

AP kit, they are on bells so I assume they could do 4 stud if they have blank bells.

Other option is looking at standard more modern brakes, A4 brakes fit under 15s I believe, TT 312s are another option, but I am not sure on minimum wheels size.

To the best of my knowledge, a major limitation in this is the 4-stud hub.
So;
disc to suit
25mm max thickness, for 986 calliper,
28mm thick needs 996 series calliper, think

A4 b5 fronts off the 2.8 or 1.8t can also be used with the boxster brembo calipers on the front as height at 46.2 is within a whisker of original (46 mm) and thickness is same at 25mm unfortunatly they are only 288mm diameter but much more common than the sport discs.

If you go to 16in wheels then the A6 (97-04 model) 312 mm disc (height 46.6 thickness 25mm) can be used, I used these on my A4 b5 with brembos and an off the shelf adapter.

Appropriate adapter necessary obviously.

I'm assuming 5 stud hubs but hey you can drill 4 stud pattern into a 5 stud disc (one hole is elongated inwards slightly + 3 new ones).
