Some of the DKW's also got rallied, there is one of these sitting down in the museum near Kenmare in Ireland. Also, there is an early 80 rally car kicking around county cork too, was up for sale a couple of years ago....

Default FIA Homologation for Competition

Hmmm............

Where shall we start?

Well, the four rings are no strangers to competition, as you will know.

Officially, the first FIA Homologation for a competition car manufactured under the actual brand of "Audi" was as follows:-

Homologation No:- 5582
Group:- 1
Mfr:- Audi
Type:- 50
Cubic Capacity:- 1093
Date of Homologation:- 01.01.1975

Maybe, a privateer rallied one of these in 1975, making this "The First Audi Rally Car"

I'm very interested in this topic, so I'll do a bit more digging of my archives.

Hmmm, once again!!!

Good shot!.....That looks like its the one in the pictures which seems to be back in the museum....will await your archive search with avid interest .......Love the early stuff, perhaps it gets overshadowed by Audis later success with the quattro a little? I am not complaining at all, but without a doubt the early outings, pre quattro, track and loose, certainly have their place in the history books, its a shame their arent more books out there which detail it.....or am I looking in the wrong places!!?
