Default UV tyre damage -

Peeps,

Mate of mine is suffering bad UV damage to his tyres (Avon) and they are barely 2 years old. He asked me if I knew of any solutions/products that work.

I don't - do you?

2 obvious choices

1. Drive it in the dark only, perhaps not entirely practical
2. Amazon sell stuff called sunblock for tyres, unlike answer 1 I’m not joking!
It’s expensive however.

Avon tyres (ZV3's?) I find are bad for cracking.

Michelins used to be bad for this too.

Only mention this for balance, I ran nothing but Michelin Pilot Exalto PE1 then 2 for years with no issues! Lasted 3-4 years, kept outside used daily. Only stopped using them as Michelin don't make them in a 205 50 R15 any more

Regular tyre treatments maybe? (autoglym)

For balance...

I have a 1992 Alfa Romeo garage queen that still has three of it's original Goodyears.

They still look perfect & don't lose air.

For regular driving I would of course change these
