RIP George Cole.
Sad to hear of the passing of the actor George Cole, who played the iconic character Arthur Daly in 'Minder'.

Yes sad news indeed and as you say Ken best remembered for Arthur Daly
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffiuyKrQU84 He appeared in numerous British films in the 50s and was brilliant as Flash Harry in 'The Belles of St. Trinians'. I also remember him as a guest star in a particularly good episode of U.F.O in the early 70s

Yes a very sad day guys.He was brilliant in Minder and as a later teenager we grew up with him on our screens as the cheeky chappy car salesman. I am finding all this sad news of late very depressing. This year we have lost so many huge stars on TV/Film and Music and i have to say it's making me feel very sad about it all. I think i am going to have to polish the S6 roof to cheer me up.

And whilst we are on the subject, Patrick MacNee AKA John Steed passed away a few weeks ago. I was away at the time and couldn't post a tribute so let's put that right. Good clip this, the sound jumps a bit but it has the music, some of the cars and all four Avenger girls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Kum599Irso

Yes, the passing of a particular generation familiar to us all is a bit like losing friends/family.
It brings home the fleeting nature of life and brings our own mortality into focus....... How bloody depressing! Furthermore, where entertainers are concerned, there just doesn't seem to be similar talent waiting in the wings to replace them nowadays. |
