Default Removing Interior Audi V8

Hi all

It sounds lazy, but....?

Need some quick info on how remove front electric adjustable seats from a type 44 chassis. This is a V8 of course, but i can't see the reinventing the wheel for one model.
(Yes, I'm being a little lazy, but time is too short for doing lots of research)
Any BTDT, gotchas etc.
The electrics are dead.
Hopefully, I'll have most of it out today.
Nice sexy black interior!

Not sure about the V8 Mark but in the B4 push the seat fully back, remove the allen screw at the front of the seat adjuster rail. Unhook the seat adjuster and then slide the seat fully forward and remove. Presume there is a plug to undo beneath your seats.
All the best.

Look for the floorboard attaching points under the front edge of seat on either side. Once these are removed, you can slide the seat out of the rear tracks.

cheers.

There are in fact 2 large M8 torx at the front. One each side, hidden under the front anchor trims. The trims need to be pushed down, then slid forward.
At the back of the rails are 2 more simple trims/covers for the rails. The seat then slides back, after unplugging the heater and motor connections.
Then, all you need to do is contort yourself, and lift while hoping you don't slip a disk.

Simples! (insert commercially oriented, rat like squeak)

Default Next bit of the jigsaw. 'andbrake lever

In trying to remove the centre console, I find that I must negotiate past the handbrake lever.

(north americanese= emergency brake)
I have happily worked out how to break the main cover off the lever.
But the bit that you actually grip* with yer paw? How does that come off?

Answers on a post card, or better still, for expediency- here.

I need to do this as it is not practical to actually disconnect the handbrake cables at this point in time.

*
for quattrokid
It's the decorative, nearly non functional bit that the MOT tester uses once per year** while testing the parking brake (and leaving oily paw prints)

**
and every 5 years or so, this same technique is used to determine that the parking brake no longer operates due to, among other things, infrequent use. (yes, once a year is probably not enough)

you probably managed it by now anyway but...mine (cheapo non v8 type) probably not the same but... it has a top cover...of some sort that ''unclips'' (breaks)...the button screws out. and i can't remember the rest other than the last time i did it i totally disconnected the entire ratchet system in the process.. hope that's no good at all to you..

It's the donor car I'm stripping. I have a week of spare time, and find myself back on the south coast, so taking the opportunity to strip some bits off.

I may use this interior on the silver machine at some stage in the future. I quite like Silver Paint/Black interior as a combination.
Or I may just sell it, if there's a market for it.

And i need to get at some switches and things on the silver car, so this gives me an opportunity to find out how, without disabling the silver car.
