What kind of parts does Febi make - I've forgotten - ?
if you don't even know what they make how can you judge the quality?

What puts me off with the Audi you have shown is that it is literally the other side of the country for me, plus I prefer that interior of the one I have posted.

When you say avoid carb cars from previous experience, have you had issues with carb'd Audi 80's in the past?
Hi Jimbo, With regard to my comments on the carb cars , I did own a 100 Avant a while back which was a one owner from new car. It had an 1800 carb engine . It came with all bills from Audi main stealership and I noted around 100K the owner reported starting problems. The invoices showed a large bill for having the carb re-built , but can't remember what parts were replaced . Those far wiser than me can probably tell you......
I think the general answer I would offer is how many carb engined cars are being produced these days ?
Secondly, given a choice, how many CA contributors would prefer a carb engined Audi to a injected one ?
Finally, I've had many other carb engined Audis over the past 30 years including a couple of 80GTs which went VERY well, until one of them dropped a small screw down one of the choke inlets! But that's another story....
I rest my case your Honour!

A carb wouldn’t be my first choice but I wouldn’t let it put me off of the right car
If it drives well ignore the fact it’s not injected

I agree but one other factor to consider....re-sale.

Which is easier to re-sell should you decide to ?

Your obviously keen to have it your way on this one.

To be honest, at this level, does difference in resale really matter in any meaningful way????

"At this level" problems could be had with carb and the Bosch K fuel injection.
Would I be right in thinking the carb will be a Pierburg?

With any car you 'could' have problems.

If it's running well at the moment does it matter (really?) what it is?
