What about any modern Audi with the stupid 'soft' alloy wheels?
Never again will I buy one with 18+" standard alloys, and then have to laugh at how much VAG want for a new one

That's not so good, if it's just the damp weather you would assume the HT side of the ignition would be at fault.
I've got a MK2 Escort sitting in the drive that I've talked about selling, my Missis thinks I should leave it there!
Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em...........can't shoot 'em.
Good luck with the car.

+1 on the modern audi theme, too complex by half, and cynical attitude to warranty work and part life, wife currently has an A3 that's 11 yrs old, by no means old but got lots of little probs that could cost big £££££ to fix. When i first had a typ 85q that was only 12 yrs old far less to wrong and much more fun to drive

There are a few i'd like but think they'd be a wallet buster

cosworth - unless you get a good low milage or one thats freshly rebuilt, how long before another rebuilds required?

intergrale - i've heard stories of the shell stress cracking. Also rust and any wiring issues

subaru - rebuild around 100k and gearboxes made of chocolate

audi rs6 - suspension, gearbox, petrol costs

porsche/supra - some of the more tail happy capri handling versions.
Whats wrong with them gearboxes?
