Ratrod comes in two classes, (to quote ZZTop) right con-shades or cheap sun glasses...

The cheap sun glasses are - the ol' rough 1.1 Polo with a roof rack, wicker basket, Yosemite Sam sticker, 2 in the pink, 1 in the stink sticker, a recently pubescent collage twot who's got girly long curly locks (That'd got him bullied to oblivion in 1980) and a failed attempt of a bum-fluff goatie. He'll know his Pro-nouns from his conjunctions and his diphthongs from his dodecahedrons but he'll catestophically fail at a 50Hz cycle, or indeed sympathising with anyone with a menstrual one.

Then there's the right con shades, a chopped 32 model A with fake steam pump plumbing, bubbly hamper at a jaunty angle and a whiff of Blists Hill engineering... "If only it wasn't so dirty you know". HP is hp and low is low, but fake aero alloy, rivets and recon rust rule the day. Geeves does the butlering, hell, he can even trailer it home, for Oxbridge and Eaton love to pretend a bit of the ol' rough now and again...

Just not Polo 1.1 rough....

In my day a rat rod was the handle from a broomstick that you rammed up a drainpipe to remove rodents... am guessing that today it would be considered some kind of pervy game that is associated with dogging.. whatever that is.
