Default Audi 100 LS Auto C1

Guys, I need help!. Nothing new there I suppose

I have an R registered Audi 100 LS Auto, one of three left I think.

It is probably one of the last produced and shipped to the UK.

In short the auto box has failed and cannot be repaired.

I found today that the auto box is the same as those fitted to C2 and B1 Audis.

Is there an auto box out there that someone is willing to sell me in order to save this car.

This is what she looks like;

She is pretty rare, end of line vehicle. It looks like they ran out of C1 boxes and started fitting the new C2 boxes, they are identifiable as the govenor is on the side of the box not the top. I have a pdf, but not worked out how to post it up.

Would it be possible / viable at this stage to convert to manual?

Hi that is always possible, but I always try to keep the Audis as original as possible. Given that we've discovered this one has a c2/b1 auto box it would be a shame to change that now.
So if anyone has unit hanging about, getting in the way. I am in the market!

There's a fresh recon Type 43 box under the racking at work, been there about 5/7 years, only kept it because it was all bright and shiney.

Scrapped a similar Type 44 Autobox just a few weeks ago, added to the weight 'over the bridge' no end.

Suggest you speak to the Man.
