another mystery...
Hey guys
So, between the OSF wing and OSF headlamp of my B4 80 sedan, in the inner corner, there's a hard black plastic piece, no idea what it's called as I haven't found it on any diagrams yet! On the right side - there is a hole in the top of the hard black plastic piece as well as a hole just above it in the engine bay frame. On the left side - there is a a raised pin-head shaped bobble in the top of the hard black plastic piece (moulded in to the plastic) and also a hole above it in the engine bay frame. Can someone please confirm if the hard black plastic piece should be secured or not? and if so, what's the name/part number of the hard black plastic piece and/or the part number for the fixing (if required) please? Looks like items 31 & 33 Andy10v...
it's certainly in the same area and it also answers my question in that it should be secured. I need to check mine again though really as I think mine is just one piece, and I cant do that atm cuz its absolutely chucking it down, but thanks for your help, will keep you posted. Okay, another photo from a different angle ->
left of photo: now identified as part #893 805 985 (so item 34) right of photo: now identified as part #8A0 805 962A (so item 31) So, comparing what I have in my photo to the Andy10v's diagram above, well it looks like I'm missing more than just a screw to secure item 31 to the engine bay frame, and well, I certainly havent removed them, so unless the Audi fairy thieves have taken them, it strikes me that a past garage was either too lazy to replace them, or more to the point, has flippin well pinched them! The missing parts being (I think): panels marked as items 33, 15 & 32 fixings marked as items 36, 37(x2), 38(x2) & 39 Could someone in the know please kindly confirm if I've gotten those missing bits & bobs right as I'm not 100% sure? It's a plastic panel to hide the headlight gubbins, they are usually on both lights - slides all the way down and secures at the top.
Haven't the foggiest on part numbers though |

I dont have any signs of anything to hide the headlight gubbins on the passenger side, and I think item 32 in the diagram is the part that would slide down, but I seem to be missing items 15 & 33 too; the part numbers will be in a listing on the 7zap link, just a case of narrowing several of each down to my specific engine.
